UE HELP

https://workshopfixsicilianos.z21.web.core.windows.net/unreal-engine-5-water-tutorial.html

Why This Tutorial is Important

Water represents fluidity, life, and emotion—qualities integral to the Traditional World I am crafting. By incorporating the techniques from this tutorial, I can achieve:

  1. Immersive Natural Landscapes: Flowing rivers and reflective ponds will enhance the natural, emotional tone of the Traditional World, emphasizing its cultural and human-centric values.
  2. Symbolic Storytelling: Water as a visual and symbolic element can underline the humanity and diversity present in traditional myths, contrasting with the sterile, geometric rigidity of the AI World.

How I Plan to Use It

  • Traditional World: The tutorial will help me design rivers, streams, or lakes that visually symbolize the vibrancy and depth of cultural narratives. I will use dynamic lighting techniques from Unreal Engine to simulate sunlight reflecting on water, enhancing the warmth and vitality of this world.
  • AI World: Drawing from the same techniques, I will manipulate water effects to appear artificial—perhaps static, holographic, or overly symmetrical—to underline the lifeless and controlled nature of AI-generated environments.

2. Detroit: Become Human

  • Developer: Quantic Dream

  • Concept: A narrative-driven game that explores the ethical dilemmas of AI and humanity through the interconnected lives of three androids.

  • Strengths:

    • Player Agency: The game offers branching narratives where player decisions have meaningful consequences, creating a highly personalized experience.
    • High Production Value: Stunning visuals, realistic character animations, and a cinematic approach enhance immersion.
    • Thematic Depth: The game raises questions about ethics, identity, and freedom in a futuristic AI-dominated society.
    • Replayability: Multiple endings and story paths encourage players to revisit the game to explore different outcomes.
  • Limitations:

    • Mainstream Focus: While it critiques AI ethics, the game often focuses on broad sci-fi tropes rather than specific cultural perspectives.
    • Reduced Interactivity: Some players feel the game relies too heavily on cinematic storytelling, limiting gameplay interaction.

  • Limitations:

    • Linear Gameplay: The game’s narrative structure and progression are highly linear, limiting player agency.
    • Niche Appeal: The intense psychological focus may not appeal to a broad audience.
  • Takeaways for the Project:

    • Use mythological storytelling as a lens to explore modern issues.
    • Create a focused, visually rich environment to convey narrative depth without requiring complex mechanics.
    • Allow players to explore at their own pace for a less linear experience.

LOGO DESIGN

LOGO

I chose to draw the logo in a minimalist way blending simplicity with symbolism. The circular motif represents the unity and universality of mythology, while the clean geometric design echoes the precision and modernity of artificial intelligence. Its monochromatic color palette highlights the contrast between the richness of traditional folklore and the homogenizing tendencies of AI narratives, critiquing the loss of cultural diversity.
